Workshops
I don't do many a year, but these fun, friendly printing workshops always prove very popular. Typically there are between 3 and 6 people at each workshop. Full-day workshops run from 10:00am to 4:00pm at £90 per person including all materials (lino, inks, paper, use of tools / presses plus tea / coffee / biscuits), and half-day block printing workshops run for 3 hours, 10:00 am to 1:00pm or 2:00pm to 5:00pm, and cost £45. Workshops run here in my orangery studio overlooking the fields in Hilton, Cambridgeshire. You just need to bring your ideas and a packed lunch.
Linocut is my specialism and my passion. I run a series of full-day workshops in
Beginners
Linocut, Lino with Chine Colle
and
Jigsaw Lino . For the more advanced I offer workshops in
Reduction Lino and Multi-Block Lino. I also run exciting half and full day
Block Printing Workshops, printing on paper and fabric, for example, print your own tea towel, tote bag, cushion cover or scarf.

Beginners Linocut is a course where I introduce the basics of linocutting on a day course where I assume no knowledge but this course is also suitable for more experienced students.
Block Printing workshops are where we have fun using hand carved wooden blocks to print onto fabric items such as tea towels, tote bags, Christmas stockings, etc. and paper items such as tags, cards etc.
Lino with Cine Colle is where you cut quite an open lino design and add coloured or patterned papers behind all or part of your design. This is a fun way of creating a variable edition from one block.
Reduction Linocut is where you’ll make a series of multi-coloured prints by reducing the block after each colour is printed.
You will receive detailed joining instructions about the workshops when you sign up, so you know what to bring etc. If you have questions in the meantime, then do get back to me.
If you have a group who want a tailored workshop, please contact me direct using the contact page, and I will arrange a date to suite. If you or your group would like day or half day workshops mid week please contact me to discuss your requirements. Workshops make a lovely Christmas or Birthday gift. If for some reason the workshop date has to change, then students will be offered an alternative date or a refund.
