Evening Classes

I have been teaching Lino Courses at Swavesey Village College in Cambridgeshire for a couple of years now, covering methods ranging from Drypoint Etching, Monoprint and Collagraph to Linocut (beginners, reduction and multi block).

Please check the college's website www.swaveseyvc.co.uk and click on community education or call the college on 01954 234488 or e-mail community@swaveseyvc.co.uk for more info.

I have just announced three new workshops:

  • Saturday 14th September - Linocut - learn all the basics of cutting and printing. A fun course suitable for all where I will cover designing for lino, cutting, registration, inking up and printing, both hand burnishing and using the press. For those with more experience you can try jigsaw lino or add chine colle to your work. Note this date has changed from 7th Sept due to family commitments.
  • Saturday 5th October - Reduction linocut - make multi-layered prints using one block. Learn to make multi-coloured prints from one lino block by cutting away the surface of the block for each colour. Sounds complicated, it's risky but fun and I will be helping you all the way. This is a good follow-on to any of the earlier Linocut courses.
  • Saturday 2nd November - Christmas Linocut - come and print cards and tags or make a lino print as a Christmas gift! Play with embossing powders for a bit of sparkle or use thin papers (chine colle) to add pattern and colour to your designs. Fun course suitable for all.
